Venetian cuttlefish with polenta

Typical dish of the city, Venetian cuttlefish with polenta is a delicacy that you can’t miss during your stay in Venice.

The preparation of the dish is homemade and the long cooking of the cuttlefish allows to give the ingredient softness and flavor; the aromas of fresh onion, garlic and white wine, used as a cooking accompaniment, mix with the unmistakable scent of the sea of cuttlefish and their black. To be enjoyed in combination, the polenta, a dish of extreme simplicity, gives the dish a perfect balance between rural tradition and maritime cuisine. Venetian cuttlefish find their peculiarity not only in the cooking method but also in the use of cuttlefish ink; this delicacy, in addition to giving an unmistakable taste, is a very powerful dye: in the past it was often used as ink and today it is used in the kitchen also for decorations and particular dishes. Besides being good and visually interesting, it has a strong antibiotic property; its regular intake can bring positive effects to the immune system.

For those who do not want to give up the taste of the sea but also to the rural tradition, for those who want to tease their palate without renouncing to health, Venetian cuttlefish is a proposal that satisfies everyone!
